Double Chocolate Coffee Beans

Doube chocolate coffee beans are a delicious snack (or topping) for an iced coffee. Chocolate and whole coffee beans combine to make an interesting bite.

Ingredients

  • cup Milk Chocolate Chips Divided
  • 2 Tbsp Whole Medium Roast Coffee Beans *Organic is preferred as the beans are eaten

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl (microwave safe), melt half of the chocolate chips (⅓ cup). Melting in 30 second increments so as not to burn the chocolate. Stir and set aside.
  2. Drop 1 tablespoon of coffee beans into the melted chocolate and coat.
  3. Using a fork, separate individual coffee beans and singly place on a piece of parchment paper to dry.
  4. Allow 30 minutes to cool.
  5. Melt the second half of the chocolate (⅓ cup) and repeat the above steps- giving the coffee beans a second coating of chocolate.
  6. Enjoy as a garnish for my iced coffee with golden syrup or as a caffeinated afternoon snack.

Notes

*If using the double chocolate coffee beans as a garnish on top of an iced coffee, I recommend making a simple homemade whipped cream before adding the chocolate coffee beans.
Whipped Cream Topping:
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
  • Add cream to medium large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer (or by hand) whip the cream until lush and thick.
  • Add the vanilla and powdered sugar to the cream and continue to whip until desired consistency is reached (approximately 2-3 minutes).
